Another Nigerian rapper, Oladipupo Olabode Oladimeji better known as Oladips, has passed away.
The management of the rapper announced his death in a statement released via his Instagram page on Wednesday.
The statement said Oladips passed away in the late hours of Tuesday.
The rapper’s management revealed that Oladips “battled within himself for over two years” before his death.
The cause of the 28-year-old rapper’s death is, however, yet to be known.
The statement said Oladips’ body is now with his family, adding that funeral plans will be announced soon.
“We are saddened to inform the general public that Oladipupo Olabode Oladimeji aka OLADIPS has passed away yesterday,” the statement reads.
“On November 14th Tuesday evening at exactly 10:14pm. We are still in shock as we speak!
“For over 2 years he has kept his battles within himself, his body is now with his family and funeral services will be announced as soon as it is concluded!
“The family asked that we respect their privacy in this trying time. May God give us all the fortitude to bear this great loss.”
Oladips was born in March 24, 1995. He hailed from Ogun state.
The rapper gained prominence after winning D’banj’s ‘King Is Here’ competition.
The win earned him a record deal with Edge records label owned by Reminisce, another rapper.
Nigerian Standard reports that the news of Oladips’ death is coming few months after that of Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, known professionally as MohBad who passed on September 12.
