A northern group, Amalgamated Northern Association (ANA) has canvassed support for minister of Transportation, Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi, to take over from President Mu- hammadu Buhari next year.

In a statement issued by national coordinator of the group, Mallam Ma- lik Abubakar Gindiri, the group stated that the former Rivers State gover- nor is eminently qualified to lead the country having been found worthy in four cardinal areas, which are critical ingredients for good leadership.

Gindiri, in the statement he personally signed alongside the group’s national secretary, Musa Adoke, on Monday, said the country stands to gain a lot from the leadership that would be provided by Amaechi if voted into power.

“We are rooting for the candidature of our brother, Mr. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi to lead the coun- try next year. We arrived at this critical decision using four cardinal yardsticks that we believe anyone aspiring to lead the country must possess,” the group stated.

According to the group, the four cardinal yardsticks with which they used in scoring the minister high are loyalty, performance, competence and accepta- bility to the voting public.
